Another Bridge To Burn (copyright John B. Cossar) The ugliest woman I've ever seen had the face of a beauty queen and something to prove, if you know what I mean... but then again, how could you, if what goes on beyond closed doors is something you're never gonna answer for and you don't know you're the only one that has misunderstood you You lead me down that lonesome road thinking there was no escape with another 'Big Bang' theory to blow my brain but you pulled the trigger too late cus I've seen that plot before. and it`s so cliché I guess it's the only role you know how to play It doesn't matter what you know you've gotta be careful what you show cus, sooner or later, somebody's gonna think they know you and then it won't matter what you say, matter of fact, it doesn't matter anyway, cus you only think that you're ok, but you really don't know, now do ya? What's left to say when you've crawled away from a love that was so deep with nothing but memories and promises that you're not gonna keep I've completely run out of cheeks to turn and I'm looking for another bridge to burn The king is dead and the queen is too and the castle's fallin into ruin, it's all loosely-based on a loony-tune, complete with crazy ending and prince charming fumbles for his clothes cus he knows he's over-exposed and everything is full of holes but it's just himself he's mending. The story of my life is written in the lines upon my face the only thing that's real, is time and I don't have time to waste re-evaluating everything I've learned while I'm looking for another bridge to burn I'm all dressed up, and nowhere to go Sometimes I rock, and sometimes, I roll I don`t know how the hell I got this old, cus nothing` else has lasted You can go on closing doors, I only wanna open more, but I`ve locked that one between us, and you never will get past it. What's left to say when you've crawled away from a love that was so deep with nothing but memories and promises and nothing left to keep I've completely run out of cheeks to turn and I'm looking for another bridge to burn Well, it only proves what I always knew it`s never too late to learn and I`m looking for another bridge to burn I`m looking another bridge to burn.

Run-Away Train (John B. Cossar & Michelle Moore) I got a restless feeling in my soul when I heard that lonesome whistle blow The train is gone, but the ache remains cus ever since then, I`ve been missin` that train Yeah I`ve always been missin that train mmm Ain`t it just like life to be just like that Like a run-away train on a crazy track Well I`ve heard enough `bout what I lack I`ve got a one-way ticket, and I won`t be back Get out of my way, I`m a run-away train And stay out of my way, I`m a run-away train mmm Cus I found out, once-upon-a-time just what`s meant by `love is blind` and the tears of rage still stain my face, and I`m running away, like a run-away train mmm My life has been a waste of time a waste of yours, and a waste of mine May as well enjoy the ride cus you can`t fast forward, and you can`t rewind cus after all, it`s a crazy ride mmm It`s like a run-away train Get out of my way, I`m a run-away train Stay out of my way, I`m a run-away train mmm I`m a run-away train mmm I`m a run-away train mmm I`m a run-away train mmm

Fait Accompli (john B. Cossar) There are so many ways that I love you that I can't bear to think that I ever let you down but there's an ache in my heart, and tears in my eyes cus you were just too damned tough to hold onto, somehow. I can see the pain in your eyes cus you just can't hide it and I wonder what do you see when you look into mine. but if you can't see by now you are the love of my life, you really must be completely and, totally blind But I won't go all 'off the head' and crazy I don't think the sky is gonna fall Fait accompli? Maybe, but if you won't answer, I won't call and I won't go down with both guns blazing cus this ain't a case for 'do or die' I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised I'm only disappointed, I am not surprised. You don't know where I've been, and you don't know what I've been through so you don't know what I know cus if you only knew you wouldn't have broken the heart of a man who really loved you and you never would have questioned that it's always been you I'm not a man that lives in the past I can't help it if the past still lives within me It's gonna take a little more time for me to clean up all the mess you left so I can forget about you, like you forgot about me But I won't go all 'off the head' and crazy I don't think the sky is gonna fall Fait accompli, baby, if you won't answer, I won't call and I won't go down with both guns blazing cus this ain't a case for 'do or die' I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised I'm only disappointed, I am not surprised. I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised I'm only disappointed, I am not surprised.

Like A Drunkard On A Spree (John Barry Cossar) These precious years are going by so fast I swear, the seasons feel like days And the days feel like turning pages from the cradle to the grave But, I spend all my time and money like a drunkard on a spree cus if you're gone, time can't go fast enough for me Cus I have loved you far beyond having any good reason to and I've lived to regret it and I'm better-off without you, baby but sometimes I still forget it and I'm pretty sure I'd miss you if I could only find the time but I've been far too busy, trying to keep you off my mind I know now, you meant to hurt me cus you're not sorry that you did. But if you thought breaking my heart was so funny well you better not go thinking I'm just kidding when I tell you now that you can't count on me to be your friend if what was going down comes back around again Don't winning feel like losing when all you won is what you lost Everything gets expensive when you don't care about the cost Hard as it is to believe You made a believer out of me You made a believer out of me Woe is me... I got my pockets full of nothing I'm under-loved, and under-fed with things there are no words for running 'round inside my head should I die trying to heal the wound, or just let it bleed? Oh well...whatever. Cus even if I loved you forever, you will never love me These precious years are going by so fast I swear, the seasons feel like days And the days feel just like turning pages from the cradle to the grave Still, I spend all my time and money like a drunkard on a spree cus if you're gone, time can't go fast enough for me

Trouble 06:04
Trouble (John Barry Cossar) I guess I'm trouble, cus trouble's all I've been Still, I swear, It's not what I intended, but I can't go back to anywhere I've been, cus there's nothing left but ashes and ruin No, I can't go back to anywhere I've been, cus there's nothing left but ashes and ruin I've been lost since the day that I was born and I been caught-up on the monster's horns and I've been used, and thrown away, all bruised and battered, and worn down by the sands of time cus these clumsy hands of mine have let slip and fall and shatter everything that mattered I've been worn down by the sands of time cus these clumsy hands of mine have let slip and fall and shatter everything that mattered I've got mine It ain't much, but it's my own and it's just enough to be something to hold unto when the day goes dark and I'm all alone and lonely cus the only one I've ever wanted in this life is long gone and departed Yeah, the only one I've ever wanted in this life is long gone and dearly departed And you've got yours There ain't no need to flaunt it, and furthermore, I've seen it, and I don't want it anymore Well, it's just a temporary lie, cus I'm only gonna love you 'till I die Yeah, I guess I'm trouble not that I can't defend it, but you don't care that it's not what I intended. Did I break your bubble? Now don't you get me started, cus you're not the only one broken-hearted. Cus I loved you and I paid the price, and I've got nothing left to sacrifice, cus I know for sure now, where your heart is, and you will never get back what you so easily discarded. No don't you tell me now, you're broken-hearted, Cus you're the only one I've ever wanted in this life, and you're long gone and departed Yeah, you're the only one I've ever wanted in this life, and you're long gone and dearly departed.

Swept Away 03:28
Swept Away (John Barry Cossar) Swept away I wanna be swept away Swept away I wanna be swept away I wanna be swept away Show me everything you know Anywhere will be ok just take me with you when you go I know tomorrow's gonna come I don't wanna think about it now Swallow me up inside your love That's all that matters to me anyhow Swept awaySwept away I wanna be swept away Swept away I wanna be swept away There's a place that knows no fear that love could ever disappear I can see it there, behind your eyes when you don't care how much you care You always leave me wanting more every time I get to see you And even though you're the girl next door you may as well be on the moon Swept away I wanna be swept away Swept away I wanna be swept away

Newfoundland Stars (John Barry Cossar) This morning I strolled down the harbor just to watch the ships blow by but when I got down the habour I had to hang my head and cry I saw my baby, down the harbor sailing on the morning tide Far across that dirty water I saw my baby, waving good-bye There ain't no mercy, up in Heaven Ain't no mercy, down in Hell cus if I can't be living with you I can't be living with myself I threw myself down in the water and I wondered if I'd sink, or swim when another ship came 'round the harbor and it pulled me right back out again Well I sat myself down by the water and I gave myself a good talking too and I heard my own voice, for the first time, ever and I stood back up, with a different point of view Cus I understand that the life I'm given is mine to live and mine to lose and you gotta play the hand you're given but how you play, well,... that's up to you And so I'm walkin down the harbor and I think I'll catch a ship myself and from now on, if you see me dyin', well, you're gonna know, it was against my will So I'm standing here before you, with my songs and my guitar and Music, is the ship I'm sailin and I have found my way this far by the light of Newfoundland stars. Guided by the light of Newfoundland stars

Every Dog Has His Day (John Barry Cossar) I work the evening shifts and I do the nine-to-five's Been workin over-nights, and over time, killin myself, just to stay alive and I ain't got nothing to show, but bills, past-due and lines on my face and I can't wait to bend an elbow, and lose these blues dust off my dancing shoes I feel you pain, and I understand but if you've got your hand out, brother you better just wanna shake hands Cus I so sorry. Maybe tomorrow, or some other time take a number and get in line You know, I was told when I was young to 'always put others before yourself, my son' and I've done my best to always be kind but I only ended up with nothing to spend but time now it's my time, and it's my turn I've had enough of this slow burn And I've had it up to here with workin all the time Ever dog has his day, and this one's mine Da da da da da da da Da da da da da da da I'm gonna take my money I gonna go down-town I'm gonna find me a party and get down Take it to the limit and across the line every dog has his day, and this one's mine Da da da da da da da Da da da da da da da I'm gonna take my money I gonna go down-town I'm gonna find me a honey and get down Take her to the limit and across the line every dog has his day, and this one's mine Da da da da da da da This one's mine Da da da da da da da

Livin' In The Rhythm (John Barry Cossar) I've got a rhythm in the way I walk Got a rhythm in the way I talk Cus livin' in the rhythm is a cure for the blues and I ain't never gonna get' em I'm gonna keep movin' my shoes Got a rhythm in the way I move Back-beat in the rhymes I choose and when those lonesome blues are closing in on you all you've gotta do is listen and let the rhythm pull you through Listen to the rhythm Listen to the rhythm Move to the rhythm Move to the rhythm Dance to the rhythm Dance to the rhythm You're livin' in the rhythm Livin' in the rhythm Livin' in the rhythm

Message 04:19
Message (John Barry Cossar) She packed her suitcase and walked to the front boor and he stood in the hall-way with nothing to say but he was blown away like a leaf in the fall when her last cold blow put an end to it all cus in that 'forever' moment, she walked away Until late in the evening he got quietly stoned with nothing but the sound of silence ringing in his ears So many years and tears down the drain and gone for nothin' and he wondered how he could crawl back up to the bottom, from here And if you saw him now, you'd understand what cryin' shame is and if you call him now, here's all that you'll hear "You can leave a message on my answering machine, if it's for me, but not her, cus she doesn't live here anymore So he packed his suitcase and he walked through the front-door without hesitation, and without looking back, cus if you can lose your heart and lose your soul, to so someone who could be so cold, well any other stranger at all could do better that that and if you saw him now you'd understand what no guilt or blame is, and if you call him now, here's all that you'll hear... Don't bother to leave a message on my answering machine as you can see, I'm not home, see ya 'round, I suppose. I've never been more clear. I never been more aware. And I've never been more clearly 'Here'

Wait Up For Me (John Barry Cossar) Everybody's lookin' for a brand-new trick and somebody new to kick, when they get one Life feels like a drive-by-shootin', we're all numb to it, it's all so oh-hum You can sell your soul for a few hundred dollars, and dedicate your future to slammin' doors Well I won't go cheap and I won't make it easy, but I dunno why, or what for Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Well I know you're out there somewhere tonight and you only wanna tie one on It doesn't mean that you have to feel so right cus I feel so wrong Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me There's only one point of view in the world I met the woman who knows it, and she told me Live and let live ain't what it is and there'll be no chain strong enough to hold me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Momma was a rock when daddy wasn't talkin' to me, but he wasn't talkin' to anyone but if he could'a talked. I wouldn't have been shocked if he said 'the truth is stranger than us both, my son' Sometimes, all the windows and doors really don't lead you to anywhere but you won't be takin'any more advice from any son-of-a-bitch that you knew from somewhere Deep in the night in the heart of the darkness wrapped up in the arms of another bad dream nobody wants to hear that little voice calllin' cus everybody knows that it's too god-damned obscene Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me Hey baby, wait up for me Wait up, wait up, wait up for me

The Secret 05:10
The Secret (John Barry Cossar) What if I told you I'm in love with you? And if I told you, I wonder what you'd do? There's a secret that I carry\ locked away within my chest cus it's better to keep it all to myself, than tell you now, if you haven't guessed it yet You're the one I love the best Never seen a better reason to exist You're the one I love the best Never seen a better reason to exist Baby you've got my attention but it would probably kill me if you gave it back cus you look just like heaven sent you but I'll never find the nerve now to tell you that Fall in love and you take your chances It ain't something you can ever be sure of Well I've learned to dance all by myself but it doesn't mean I've never been a fool for love just means I never had a clue at all Lucky are the ones that never know how love can be so unkind and the very love that gives your heart it life can make you die a million times And I can dream all that I want to, but only in dreams will you be mine and even if I could, I would not want to turn back the hands of time So there's a secret that I carry locked away within my chest cus it's better to keep it all to myself, than tell you now, if you haven't guessed it yet You're the one I love the best Never seen a better reason to exist You're the one I love the best Never seen a better reason to exist
